For California BOARD Life's owner and operator Brian Owens, the phrase he coined years ago and eventually incorporated into his company’s slogan, "Livin’ a BOARD Life" truly encompasses his personal lifestyle. As an avid boarder, Brian lives on two edges, whether it’s snowboarding, surfing, wakesurfing, skateboarding, longboarding, skimboarding, mountainboarding, wakeboarding, carveboarding, or any other BOARD type he or anyone else will dream up. As a sponsored athlete at a young age, Brian developed a spirit and drive that remains evident in his personality today. Teaching a person a new BOARD sport is a huge passion and over the past 5 years he’s been developing a skate lesson program that targets any complete beginner to intermediate skateboarder. With safety in mind, and working in conjunction with the City of Folsom Parks & Recreation department, this program has become the premier skate lesson program of the greater Sacramento region (Lessons).
Recently a knee injury forced Brian out of impact oriented board sports for the summer. Leave it to him to find an alternative… wakesurfing. It’ll be interesting to see where he goes with this one.
